Erlangen, Germany, February 13, 2022 – Together with Lars Ole Fichte of Helmut Schmidt Universität / Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg, we have outlined a new cognitive attack that can falsify OSINT-based situational awareness in the short term as well as in the long term.

With this interdisciplinary contribution, we could win the 2nd place of the “Hamburger Sicherheitspreis” (awarded by the Handelskammer Hamburg, NBS Northern Business School and Akademie der Polizei Hamburg)!

Being convinced of your own solution is only one side of the coin. In the end, we must constantly ask ourselves how we can keep our approaches robust and protect them against negative influence. A result of the contribution is that a lot can be achieved by data fusion with other sensors and Artificial Intelligence, but also by discussing countermeasures with data providers.

The award ceremony will take place during the “NBS Security Forum” on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 1:30 pm at NBS Northern Business School, Studienzentrum AlsterCity, Weidestraße 122C, 22083 Hamburg (tickets under NBS Sicherheitsforum).
